Ritual: Inner Conflict Resolution

This is a more traditional spell to make peace between the opposing sides within. It helps by giving the shadow a voice and then releasing the warring sides of your psyche. This helps alleviate some of the ups and downs in emotions you may feel and release things that plague the mind. You can adapt this spell whenever you need to resolve any type of inner conflict to give it light and then, set it free. Here’s what you’ll need: • One piece of paper and a pen • One lit candle (Ideally black or white) • Some incense as an offering to Agni, the Fire God • One bowl • Gather your supplies and light your incense. Write down these two phrases, each on a different side of the paper: • This is the side of me that is grounded in the physical rules of the world. • This is the side of me that is limitless and capable of miracles. You can also write whatever is vexing you. For example: • This is the side that believes I need to be a good Christian or do what I’m told. • This is the side of me that wants to pursue this dire need in my soul for magic. 110 The paper will represent you, with two different sides that make you whole. Once you’re done writing these words down, fold the paper and drop one to two drops of candle wax on each side. Now, recite these words: I accept both sides. I shall not choose one over the other. They live in harmony. I Am harmony. So be it. Carefully offer the paper as an offering to the fire. Drop it in the bowl to seal the ritual and embrace fully both sides of your nature. Watch as the spot of wax melts and then eventually allows the fire to take even that bit of paper too. Eventually, all things surrender. *If you’re not comfortable with burning the paper, that’s alright! You can take it outside to bury it in the ground if you prefer. Just be sure to recite the final words as you’re discarding the paper. Bury the paper with a bit of unburned incense.
