Build Your Altar

Wind down at night with a good book before sleep

Before you get started, please note that some advanced  practitioners have a very specific way they feel an altar must  be prepared. This is beautiful, and I applaud and respect  this. There is great wisdom in these specifics. However, this  particular practice is about tapping into You.

As we get more  advanced, we will talk about some additional options. For  now, make a space and feel good about it.   There’s no time like the present to build an altar!  Here are the steps… Choose a space - it’s up to you how simple or elaborate you  want the altar to be. It can be an entire spare room or a small  corner on your desk.

What’s important is to establish it, with  conviction, as your altar, the space or area dedicated to your  craft. Gather your magical tools - think of your magical journey and  the type of tools that would be useful to have in your altar,  such as candles, crystals, or a journal.

You can also expand  your altar over time, so don’t stress too much about your  spiritual tools just yet. By the end of this book, you’ll know  exactly what you want in your magical toolbox.

Arrange your altar - create your altar in a way that feels good  to you. There is no right or wrong here since this is your  magical safe space. Try out different placements for your  tools and objects, until it feels right. In the beginning, you can add these tools to your altar:

• Pictures or statues of deities you normally pray to

• Flowers

• Candles

• Incense

• Aromatic spice

• Plants

• Dried fruit
